Communication, community, and freedom are 3 of the things that Dan provides as a leader of his organization. In this episode, Dan shares how this has empowered his team to amazing success.
Dan is an example of what happens when a visionary leader surrounds themselves with people that can catch the vision, own it, and achieve amazing things.
Dan is a dreamer! He loves working on ideas and getting the ball rolling and then handing it off to the team of amazingly talented people around him to implement. Often times these ideas revolve around baseball, insurance, marketing and Eagles Nest International (children's home in Guatemala).
Daniel Vander Kooi is a business owner and entrepreneur living in the very small town of Lynden, Washington. The phrase, “Culture is King”, that we have heard so often, is really taken and applied to each area Dan spends his time in.
He is husband and dad of 3 kids, owner, and partner of 3 different businesses, Board President of Eagles Nest International- an orphanage in Guatemala, and on top of that, he is a varsity high school baseball coach. Like many business owners, spreading his time and energy in so many directions can present a challenge.
However, over the last 11 years, Dan has shifted his approach to focus on building strong teams around him that thrive on healthy cultures. His method has proven to be financially and personally beneficial to each industry and area of life he is invested in. Not only has he found freedom for growth in his businesses and opportunities to give back to communities, but he has also been able to find more quality time in his favorite job, Dad.
